OSCAR NOMINEE FOR BEST PICTURE AND BEST COSTUME DESIGN!

When charismatic but down-on-his-luck Stanton Carlisle (Bradley Cooper) endears himself to clairvoyant Zeena (Toni Collette) and her has-been mentalist husband Pete (David Strathairn) at a traveling carnival, he crafts a golden ticket to success, using this newly acquired knowledge to grift the wealthy elite of 1940s New York society. With the virtuous Molly (Rooney Mara) loyally by his side, Stanton plots to con a dangerous tycoon (Richard Jenkins) with the aid of a mysterious psychiatrist (Cate Blanchett) who might be his most formidable opponent yet.

“Nightmare Alley pays tribute to noir. But it’s also its own dark snow globe, luminous and finely faceted, and one of del Toro’s most fluent features.” – Hollywood Reporter

“It is easy to see why an actor would want to play someone as personally complicated, brutal, and lost as Stanton Carlisle, but Bradley Cooper, who grabbed the role in this new version, makes it his own and brings new frightening layers to it.” – Deadline Hollywood Daily

“This is a satisfying, fully realized film noir where the characters are more than stereotypes. Only a filmmaker as knowledgeable and passionate as Guillermo del Toro could have made this picture, and I’m awfully glad he did.” – Leonard Maltin

“Cate Blanchett is outstandingly icy and mischievous, but this is Bradley Cooper’s show.” – Flickering Myth

“That descent is carried by the fearless scumminess of Cooper’s remarkable performance. Always an actor who’s best when tetchily undermining his own alpha swagger, he’s equally impossible to love and look away from.” – Rolling Stone

“Cooper ably meets every demand the film makes of him. This an unnervingly compassionate portrait of a truly bad egg.” – Time Magazine

“Cooper works magic with an unassumingly sensational turn.”- Roger Ebert.Com

“This “Nightmare Alley” is a gorgeous exercise in style and mood.” – Seattle Times
