Also featuring tremendous performances by Christina Hendricks (Mad Men) and Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad), American Woman spans decades as it tells the moving and inspirational story of Deb (Miller). Having had a child very young, Deb finds herself a grandmother to her teenage daughter Bridget’s young son. When Bridget disappears one night, Deb and her other family members conduct a desperate search, to no avail. The film then traces Deb’s life over the course of more than a decade: she gets on with life, raising her grandson and encountering disappointments and new love, all the while never giving up hope on her daughter. Delicately depicting resilience and growth in the face of tragedy, American Woman will stay with you for a long time.
