Erik Jensen, (founding editor of The Saturday Paper) was an ambitious 19-year-old journalist when he interviewed the infamous Cullen and was invited to write his biography. Working from the artist’s home in the Blue Mountains the two formed a bond that endured, even after Cullen shot Jensen and threw him from a motorbike, until the artist’s death four years later at the age of 46. Featuring an acclaimed performance by AACTA Best Actor winner Daniel Henshall (Snowtown, The Babadook) and Toby Wallace (Romper Stomper, The Turning), and executive produced by Robert Connolly ACUTE MISFORTUNE reveals the painter and journalist in unparalleled detail.
