History of The Arcadia

The Arcadia opened on September 8th, 2000 and is named in memory of the long lost Arcadia Theatre in Chatswood.

This superbly designed cinema with the Sydney Olympic colours, emerald green and gold, features stunning light fittings and a breathtaking gold art-deco bas relief sculpture of Australian champion runner Matt Shirvington by Sydney artist Dominik Zannino from designs by Avgoulla Hendrickson.

Features of the Cinema

Luxurious seating with a beautiful green curtain with gold fringing which rises to reveal a shimmering white silk curtain which opens to a huge screen.

The Arcadia features 35mm projection and Dolby Digital sound.
